Remote Noise Monitoring & Control — Bedrock Elite i10
The Bedrock Elite i10 can now be controlled and monitored remotely. Using the new Remote Protocol (a Python API) and the Bedrock Remote Connect app for mobile and web, you can start a measurement, follow the live sound level and retrieve data without being on site — a capability purpose-built for unattended and long-term noise monitoring. Remote control is an i10-exclusive feature of the instrument's new hardware and firmware platform.
Reach your instrument without a site visit
Noise monitoring frequently means leaving a sound level meter running for hours, days or weeks at a construction boundary, industrial perimeter, event or residential receptor. Remote access lets you confirm a measurement is running, follow the sound pressure level in real time and collect data remotely, removing the site visits that make long-term monitoring costly. Both connection options are configured from the i10's Network module, where a dedicated tab provides the remote connection settings.
Two ways to connect
Remote Protocol — Python API. A programmable interface for controlling the i10 and reading measurement data from your own scripts and systems. Ideal for automated, repeatable and unattended monitoring and for integrating acoustic data into existing pipelines, dashboards and alerting. It runs reliably on Linux-based hosts.
Bedrock Remote Connect app. View and control your i10 from a mobile device or web browser — no scripting required. The mobile app is available for Android on Google Play, with browser access for other devices; additional platforms are planned.

The current Remote Protocol release supports the modules most relevant to noise monitoring:
SPL (Sound Level Meter) — follow the live sound pressure level and core SPL measurement.
RTA (Real-Time Analyzer) — access real-time 1/1 and 1/3 octave frequency analysis.
Environment & Safety — the module built for noise monitoring and exposure, available over the remote connection.
